Coaching Testimonials

Coaching with Lucy has been truly an amazing experience. I liked how she helped me see things from a different perspective. During our sessions I have improved my self-esteem and I took my professional life to another level. The good thing about coaching with Lucy is that it can help in every sphere of life. I loved every bit of it, and it enormously helped me to improve my life as a whole.

I found my sessions with Lucy extremely valuable. Money well spent!

Lucy was professional, knowledgeable, warm and flexible, and I have already recommended her twice. I found Lucy and her approach very affirming and useful. She encourages a growth mindset, places work and career in the context of her client's life, and I felt my individuality was respected and valued. She presents an informed rationale for the coaching process and tools.

I really valued the opportunity to think deeply and differently about what I value most from my work and life, and what I bring to the table. It was good to have the weekly accountability and a clear process to guide that.

I now feel more certain about the type of roles I'll be looking for, and confident about what I can bring to the table. I am being curious about a range of opportunities that will use more of those skills and interests I'm more passionate about, rather than simply roles I can do.

– Frances (Wellington, NZ)

Lucy is a pro!

I was feeling mis-placed in mind and position in my working life when I saw Lucy for coaching. Her style was great, very clear, very well thought through and simple to understand.

What did I like about the coaching? Lucy – quite simply :-). Her manner made it very easy to get in to the deep thoughts of my why.

I now understand how my core values relate to my working environments, how my troubles are due to misalignment of roles, and how to ascertain what my happy place looks like.

I’ve learned to be aware/open to the signs :-) (You'll only understand that after completing the six sessions!)

10/10. I highly recommend Lucy to colleagues, friends, family who have a tendency for ups and downs in their work place. Lucy will help you find your happy place.

– Kelsey (Auckland, NZ)

I recommend Lucy’s coaching to anybody and everybody! This coaching was more beneficial than any other professional coaching or counselling that I've encountered because it focuses on understanding, deeply, who you are as an individual and how you work. This is the very foundation for a successful and happy life. I am so thankful for Lucy and all the learnings I got from working with her.

I sought out Lucy’s help because I was anticipating leaving a role where I was engaged and happy and I wanted to ensure that I went into equally fulfilling work and to consciously choose my next step.

Lucy was open, friendly and invested in me. Through her coaching I gained a deeper understanding of myself, not only in terms of my career ambitions but also in terms of who I am as a person, what it is that I value, and the ways that I process information. This has been beneficial in my work life, relationships and parenting my children.

Understanding my values has helped me with prioritizing what I need in order to be engaged and fulfilled, and empowered me to ask for those things with confidence.

I’m now able to be really clear about the roles I’m willing to pursue. I went for an interview for a role I had once thought I would enjoy, and had the confidence and understanding of myself to withdraw my application. I ultimately chose a role that I wouldn't have normally thought was the right fit for me. I am now the first woman in this role for our region and one of very few nationwide. I’ve also finally applied for a leadership course in my area of work that I have been mulling over for well over two years.

The whole process was simple, on track of what I was looking for, and easy to follow and understand. Being able to do the coaching over zoom was a big plus as it meant I could travel for work/holidays and still maintain my coaching sessions.

– Tracey (Canterbury, NZ)

Lucy was amazing. Honestly I don't think I would have had the confidence to move jobs and feel like I was worthy without her support. She was kind, honest and supportive and I was given the confidence I needed to leave my current role and find a new role that was better suited to me.

I had been unhappy at work and was not feeling supported to develop or grow in my role. I appreciated the real life coping strategies I gained through Lucy’s coaching, and learning my strengths and values.

I now ensure I use my strengths more effectively at work and I won't work for an organisation that doesn't share my values.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who is going through a tough time in their career or who is looking at a career change. 10/10

– Michelle (Wellington, NZ)

I have done a lot of training and courses over my life but this may well be the most influential, and the one I continue to revisit.

I saw Lucy for coaching because I was struggling to balance the demands of home life and work life. I was underperforming at work as I wasn’t able to commit the amount of time required.

Lucy’s coaching was just what I needed and has really helped guide me in a new way of thinking and given me tools to investigate other ideas and options. She is a great listener and really relates what you say back to her framework. The work we went through and the structure felt very bespoke to my needs.

Lucy is very personable and friendly. She shows great empathy and genuinely wants to help you. She has a terrific framework to go through to better understand yourself. It helped me to identify my strengths, skills, interests and then pulling it all together made me feel comfortable to think outside of the box and consider working in roles other than accounting – a scary proposition before the coaching!

Lucy’s coaching programme gave me confidence in myself and helped me understand that the skills I developed while in accounting can easily be used in other professions. It also helped me take the plunge and resign from work. Having a framework and platform to deeply think about what is important to me was much more effective than me talking in my head!

I also appreciate that what is important to me right now might not be the same in five years time, but I have the tools to continuously assess and seek out what the right career path is given my values.

Highly recommended. 10/10.

– Chris L (Wellington, NZ)

It’s hard to put into words the value I've received from Lucy’s approach and how much it has helped me gain confidence, clarity and direction in my career.

The structured nature of the coaching and how it worked through a lot of different elements of your whole self (rather than just career) and how this can translate into your working environment was so helpful.

My overall wellbeing has improved and I gained a huge amount of confidence in what I am good at and interested in. I also realised what is most important to me and what I will be looking for in the future.

My increased confidence has meant that I'm less reactive to triggers that would otherwise have undermined my strengths and skills. I'm also actively looking for new opportunities and being more selective in the type of organisations I'm looking at.

I highly recommend Lucy – 10/10. Anyone who is struggling to find 'their path' or lacking confidence in who they are at work, or struggling to reconcile who they are at home with who they are at work, would benefit for her coaching.

– Dominique (Auckland, NZ)

I absolutely loved working with Lucy. I looked forward to my sessions with her and will be applying what I learnt working with her well into the future. She is just one of these rare people who really knows her market, herself and the value she offers.

I was at a career cross road unsure about which direction I really wanted to take next. Along came Lucy. Smiling. Ready. Prepared. Focused. Packaged perfectly with great insights.

This is the first time I have worked with a coach and it won't be the last! Coaching is a joy.

I felt I was able to properly deep dive into the things that mattered most to me which then enabled me to put into motion some long held desires. My confidence and wellbeing improved and I’ve changed my mindset, my self talk, and my plans for my future!

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who is not at the end of their career but wants to make a change for the better in some aspect of their working life. 10/10

– Lara (Christchurch, NZ)

I was contemplating re-entering the paid workforce after being a full-time parent for four years, and a change from the work I had done prior to that.

Lucy was really supportive and encouraging. I gained valuable insight into my strengths, skills and interests, and from this a great sense of clarity. I liked the breadth of exercises and avenues explored, to create a very thorough picture of what an ideal job might look like for me.

I also gained confidence about seeking a role that played to my strengths, skills and interests and a feeling of excitement about what my future career could look like. It prompted me to seek out and apply for roles that were very different to my previous employment.

I would recommend Lucy to anyone! 10/10! Particularly to those people who are contemplating a career change, or parents returning to the workforce after a period of being at home.

– Hannah (Lower Hutt, NZ)

Lucy was wonderful! She clearly laid out how the sessions would run, she is a great, patient listener and has a kind, compassionate manner that I really appreciated.

I contacted Lucy when I found myself depleted after working in a number of tough environments that had sapped my confidence. I felt incredibly stuck thinking that I had to continue in an industry that no longer gave me any joy or satisfaction.

From the initial phone consultation I felt that working with Lucy would provide me with a pathway forward and it did. The external questionnaires that are part of the sessions really reinforce the work that we do together and Lucy has such great insight into how a career transition might look, the obstacles that could arise and suggestions on how to tackle those.

Each session gave me something to work towards and they helped open my eyes in terms of what my next steps could be. The sessions helped me look at the bigger picture and what I want not only from my career but from, and for, my life. I am so thankful that I discovered Lucy when I did.

I'm now much more attuned to my values and what will light my fire as I look for future jobs. This has helped me avoid the trap of taking the very first thing that came my way as I could more clearly analyse whether or not it seemed like a good fit for me. I feel more empowered, I recognise why my previous job wasn't right for me and I am regaining my confidence.

I'd recommend Lucy to anyone who is looking for a career change, or who enjoys their work but is ready for a new challenge. The coaching sessions are comprehensive, interesting and help you seek out the things that really excite you in terms of work and life. The tools used in the sessions provide a deeper understanding of not only the type of work I was good at, but what I actually enjoyed. The concept of 'what energises me' was a real lightbulb moment – one of many I had over the course of the coaching! 10/10

– Simone (Rotorua, NZ)

It's been a pleasure to work with Lucy. I feel so lucky to have been able to secure a spot in her coaching books. I felt safe, heard and like I could share my full story without judgement.

I was feeling directionless with my career – a longstanding issue which I wanted to do something about. I had zero clue what to pursue and that made me anxious and concerned.

Lucy's approach/style was a balance of being warm, empathetic and approachable, balanced with a confident assertiveness and action-orientation. I felt like she really took the time to get to know me and my unique situation. Then, with that, gave me strong guidance and focus – it wasn't fluffy, it was solid advice and that gave me confidence. The process before seeing Lucy was very difficult and upsetting to navigate. I felt like I could trust her in the unknown.

Lucy broke down the coaching into six clear sessions – each with a slightly different focus and tangible actions – plus incorporating approved tests. I felt like I was given structure to the ambiguity. And I was guided through each section. Lucy made me feel more confident approaching this uncertain topic. She also was willing to address roadblocks along the way – she as flexible with her coaching. This allowed me to progress in my current situation – alongside focusing on the bigger picture.

I valued the tangibility of her advice and the concrete actions to take wrapping up our sessions. I also didn't feel judged or like I was afraid to share anything with Lucy – that was a huge win and made the process true to me.

I felt like I was facing every possible career option that existed and that felt overwhelming. The coaching sessions helped me to drill down and narrow in on areas of potential to explore further once the sessions ceased.

I learned a lot about myself that I could draw on to help with the decisions. Lucy helped me get my head above water and see what was and was not so acceptable in a workplace – and what I could possibly watch for and pushback on in future. It helped me to see where my boundaries were.

Lucy gave me confidence to look into opportunities and explore potential interest areas that came up. My career anxiety is significantly reduced. I don't have the exact answers yet, but I am a lot closer. I am far less anxious and feel like I can trust the process of trial and error.

I highly recommend Lucy. 10/10. To someone who is struggling with direction. Who does not have a strong awareness of their own strengths, skills, interests and who may be struggling with the work life balance they are hoping for. Lucy can help people navigate the ambiguity of career exploration and narrow down opportunities, leaving the client with confidence to go forth on their own with much more clarity and direction.

– Jessica (Sydney, Australia)

Lucy helped me find my “why”.

She is great at asking the right questions for you to reach the answers that you know are there somewhere but don't know what it is you should be asking yourself.

What I liked about the coaching programme is that it wasn't rushed. Just the right amount of relevant content/subject matter to make sure you really get to deep dive.

I gained clarity and feel able to package up my strengths and skills to feel comfortable and confident to use them to find new opportunities.

10/10. I highly recommend Lucy other people who are having an "I don't know what I want to do when I grow up" crisis.

– Martin (Whitby, NZ)

I wanted a process to help me frame up thinking about what is right for me as I move out of my role as Principal.

Thanks to Lucy’s coaching, I have a greater awareness of what I can bring as transferrable skills and strengths outside an education context.

I now have a clear sense of things I enjoy and energise me and as a result what to look for in future employment. I also enjoyed being made aware of the whole concept of things that "I am good at, but don't energise me". These are what I need to be cautious of in new employment opportunities. It was also good to do a refreshed set of values.

I liked that the coaching had a structure but flexibility. We used the time and got through the tasks set but I always felt there was enough space within the sessions to be able to talk, discuss and ask questions.

I highly recommend Lucy’s coaching programme (10/10). I really liked the approach, the structure and Lucy's professional personable style.

– Craig (Wellington, NZ)

When I started seeing Lucy for coaching I was feeling a bit lost, lacking direction and wasn’t fulfilled in my role anymore.

I felt immediately comfortable with Lucy. She is a great listener, calm and collected and takes on what you are saying before asking questions that challenge your thoughts. The coaching was an emotional rollercoaster for me and Lucy was reassuring and supportive throughout.

I liked that the sessions were structured and the workbook allowed me to summarise and track progress and discussions in a way that enabled me to start noticing themes. I initially thought the two week break between sessions would be too far apart but they were just right and allowed time to reflect on discussions and bring awareness to unhelpful thoughts, feelings and barriers in my daily life at work and in general. I could openly share my thoughts/ramblings with Lucy and she would reframe them in a way that was so succinct and simple.

The sessions allowed me to explore and realise my skills, values and interests and get to know myself better. The coaching confirmed things that deep down I already knew but ultimately hadn’t given myself permission to explore.

Lucy offered fresh perspective and challenged my thinking. There were occasions in between sessions when I would feel overwhelmed and after each session I would feel the complete opposite, with clarity and excitement about next steps. Seeing my results in a professional report and discussing them with Lucy was a nice way of tying it all together and knowing I have something to refer back to.

I feel like a different person! I know myself better, have the tools and knowledge to know if things are right for me and whether they fit with my values, and I have gained a sense of clarity in my career direction. I have the confidence to change what I’m doing without feeling anxious or doubtful and have recently resigned from my role to explore new career opportunities.

I would absolutely recommend Lucy -10/10. The coaching has been a life changing experience for me and I feel excited about what the future holds and a step closer to achieving my life goals.

– Robyn (Wellington, NZ)

These sessions were so incredibly helpful for me and I’m so glad I finally pulled the trigger and spoke to someone! I now feel so much more excited about the prospect of a career change!

When I saw Lucy, I was unhappy with my current career and thinking about a complete career change but was feeling very uncertain in what I was looking for.

Lucy is so kind and seems to completely understand the challenges of not enjoying a career! She uses a few questionnaires and resources to help paint a picture of your skill set and the things that give you energy and things that drain you… something I wouldn’t have figured out on my own!

She really helped me figure out what is important for me in a job and how I want it to fit around my lifestyle.

Her coaching also set me up to ask more useful questions at interviews and to people already in the career I am thinking about switching to.

I really benefited in terms of my confidence in my current skills being able to be transferable to many different careers. I feel more settled and much less overwhelmed in the decision to re study. I now know what my non negotiables are in my career and how to ask specific questions in an interview to make sure that workplace is right for me.

I have moved forward with my decision to restudy and am now talking to multiple people in that job to make sure it’s for me!

I would definitely recommend Lucy. 10/10. To friends or co-workers that are either looking for a change or are feeling a bit stuck in the rat race!! Or those who just need a little more confidence within their knowledge and skills.

– Lizzie (Nelson, NZ)

I felt stalled, like I was "spinning plates". I didn't really know where I was going, and if I was in the right job. I was also overworking because I didn't have a sense of the priorities or criteria to say no to things.

Lucy’s approach was fantastic – I really liked the structured approach as I knew what was happening each week. Lucy is also very friendly and warm, so I felt comfortable to share my thoughts. She had such great insights into what I was saying that were real lightbulb moments for me.

As well as the structure, I really liked the multiple measures used. I felt like I was seeing myself from lots of different angles – I've never had such a good understanding of what I enjoy and what makes me tick at work.

The coaching helped me identify what I enjoy at work, rather than what others think I should do. Helped me figure out what type of work I would really enjoy, and potential roles, jobs, and organisations I can start to investigate. It also helped me figure out how to shape the job I am currently in to suit me more.

I've noticed I have a clearer idea of the type of activities I would enjoy doing, and this has helped me identify what I should say yes or no to when it crosses my desk.

I highly recommend Lucy – 10/10. Some colleagues in similar organisations that are similarly stalled and confused to the way I was: often those who are emerging from the hardest stage of having small kids and have more energy and realising that their job is not quite right for them anymore (after years of just getting through day to day with babies and toddlers!).

– Emily H (Wellington, NZ)

I was recovering from burnout and coming to the realisation that my role was too big. Life was taking second place to work.

Seeing Lucy for coaching was a hugely positive experience. She has a great structure and scientific approach with a healthy dose of therapy!

I felt validated in my own understanding of myself and my situation, and had an objective sounding board to think through ways to change my course.

I needed to put my life ahead of my work again. I'm now a self-employed consultant who sets my own diary. I'm starting to eat right and exercise again, and my days are mine.

I highly recommend Lucy’s coaching – 10/10.

– Rebecca (Wellington, NZ)

Lucy is very skilled and polished in her coaching style. She is open, warm and approachable, an active listener and clear communicator and established rapport rapidly. She was on point and fully engaged in the process which left me feeling more confident after our sessions. Very good at allaying uncertainty and affirming one's ability to achieve their goals. 10/10.

I was looking for help to change careers and I really liked having assistance and guidance to identify my skills and strengths and to explore and challenge entrenched ideas regarding my future direction.

Through Lucy’s coaching I felt reassured regarding the ability to create change for the future, and encouraged to follow my own direction. I now have greater belief in my ability to implement the change I desire.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who is seeking to change their career to one that will harness their personal skills and strengths, and those who have the desire to create change but lack the confidence in instigating it. Why? Because she is a skilled guide and enables one to gain greater clarity regarding what is possible.

– Fiona W (Wellington, NZ)

I was in a challenging work environment while also dealing with health challenges when I contacted Lucy. She was warm, thoughtful and considered, and I really appreciated her clear and thoughtful guidance as an 'outsider' – it was a valuable opportunity to talk with someone outside my work place, someone with a wide range of experiences and knowledge about work places, compared with the kinds of conversations that I was having with my colleagues that had a tendency to focus on the flaws of the institution rather than the possibilities for us either within the institution or outside it.

I appreciated the six sessions, each of which built upon the others and the pacing gave me time to reflect between each session.

I gained far greater clarity on my priorities and values. I also have a much better sense of alternative possibilities, if I decide that my current workplace does not fit. I now have strategies for reflecting on my work life and, having clearly articulated what is important for me, I feel much more confident taking control and deciding what I am capable of and able to do, compared with what I feel duty-bound to do.

I have more confidence to make decisions about what works for me, and I also have some clear strategies to help make these judgements in the future, based on my values and strengths. I have a work plan for the next two years, with strategies to help me achieve my goals, and a plan for if I am unable to achieve the goals (look for alternative jobs).

This has been a hugely valuable experience, and I feel really positive about taking control over my work life in the coming years. I would highly recommend Lucy's service to my colleagues as I think her approach is well-suited to those wishing to reflect deeply on their working life and values. 10/10.

– Claire T (Wellington, NZ)

I am so grateful to have worked with Lucy. I feel empowered and excited to make some changes using the skills I didn't realise I had.

When I saw Lucy, I was on maternity leave and had been unsatisfied in my job for a few years. I was thinking about a change but had no idea where to start.

Lucy’s coaching programme was structured, researched, friendly and helpful, and it made me think about my whole life, not just my job. It made me realise what made me tick, how much I already had that I enjoyed, and what areas I could work on immediately. It made me feel confident and hopeful.

The coaching has given me ideas, self-realisation and excitement. I feel less inclined to talk myself out of things and feel like I can work towards building a future with some intention.

I highly recommend Lucy’s coaching – 10/10. I’d recommend her to anyone who is not completely happy in their work or life. I used to think it was a bit juvenile to expect to enjoy all aspects of your job and life but now I realise that it is not only possible, but imperative that you try, and Lucy can be the person who helps you do that.

– Rebecca (Auckland, NZ)

I was stuck in a rut and unsure what to do or where to go in my career, but Lucy's coaching reminded me about some of my long forgotten interests. It also highlighted some strengths and skills I didn't think were strengths or prominent skills of mine.

I've found areas I am passionate about to explore more. I no longer feel stuck, and I have options.

I have taken up some new hobbies to enrich my life that may also turn into a new career. I also shared some of my learnings with others for application in their own development.

I highly recommend Lucy because of her approach. 10/10. Her coaching programme was systematic and thorough, and she ensured you had all the tools and explanations necessary to work through the modules. It made me consider things in a way I hadn’t done previously.

I really enjoyed my sessions with Lucy and I look forward to seeing where life takes me from doing this course with her.

– Kayley (Waikato, NZ)

I had hit a roadblock with working out next steps, wanting to leave my current role, but not sure what to look for. I was having a crisis in confidence.

Lucy was amazing. Collaborative and supportive, very personable and calm, easy to relate with and was able to guide me through the exercises.

I like that the coaching got me thinking. Reminded me of my strengths, values and skills and clarified opportunities available to me.

It gave me room to breathe, took away some of the panic and anxiety that was creeping in, and I now have more confidence around what I am looking for and clearer on a potential path forward.

I highly recommend Lucy’s services to friends and colleagues that are needing clarity around what the next steps in their career might be and especially those feeling a bit jaded or lost. 10/10.

– Deb (Masterton, NZ)

I was trying to figure out which direction to go re future employment, and Lucy’s sessions helped me understand what resonates with me (and why), and what my values are.

Lucy has a multi-dimensional approach, which is great, and she’s very engaging. The structure of the programme is very good, coming at things from multiple perspectives to give a holistic view. The mix of homework and discussions in sessions is also very well done.

Since the sessions I have focused my search more specifically, I am much more clear about the sort of work I'm looking for, and my overall wellbeing and confidence has improved significantly.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone looking to make a life change that relates to aspects of their career because the sessions help you understand what's truly important to you (and why). 10/10.

– Jonathan (Wellington, NZ)

I had been feeling a little stuck and directionless in my career, unsure what to do next, and Lucy really helped give me clarity and bring different focus areas and ideas together. She was very collaborative, easy to work with, inquisitive and educational.

I really enjoyed working with Lucy and I am really happy I chose to do this work with her.

She provided the tools and support to me gaining insight into my own drivers and motivations, and allowed me the space to think through and talk about ideas that popped up during our sessions.

I gained a lot of personal insight into interest areas and skills/strengths, more confidence in my own abilities and better understanding of my "why". I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who is looking for a career change or just some clarity in their choices and work options. 10/10.

– Penny (Wellington, NZ)

Lucy is a remarkable listener. She is genuinely interested in people. The guidance during the sessions and selection of online exercises and homework provided a very productive environment for (re)discovery of skills and discussions.

I had coaching with Lucy because I had reached a point in my career where I did not feel in control of my aspirations. I felt like I was passively stepping into a thick fog and needed clarity and confidence to make sensible decisions for my next chapter.

What I really liked about the coaching was working with someone with great career skills and experience, exploring professional strengths and working style preferences with no perceived barriers. Being able to realise how much I could offer, instead of focusing on what (I thought) I didn't have.

I (re)gained confidence in myself. Lucy's coaching style is very empowering. I could identify a "dream" career destination and I am at peace with the possibility that it may take a few stops on the way before I can reach it. The advice I received will stay with me for a long time. It also helps a lot to have had the workbook to capture my thoughts, values and priorities – any time I have a doubt, I can refer back to it.

Instead of my future being dictated by what organisation I feel may use my skills, I am now letting my aspirations (family and professional) guide where I want to be and how I want to work, and only then do I look at roles available that match my needs. I have not found something worth leaving my current role for, but I am positive it will happen.

I would recommend Lucy to anyone who acknowledges they have lost their ability to see through the fog (of overwork and corporate expectations) to regain their confidence and make sensible choices for themselves. 10/10

– Aurelie (Nelson, NZ)

I had identified that to help me manage ambitions and opportunities that arise in my career (often during course of my employed role) that I needed some help reflecting on what energizes me and what kind of roles suit me and my situation.

Lucy has a lovely style – she’s a really good active listener who takes good notes and remembers snippets of conversation. She questions well and generates good reflection. I really liked the safe space that Lucy creates. I felt I was able to honestly engage with her in an open manner.

I was able to really cement what I think I already knew regarding my work preferences and the coaching helped manage my 'grass is always greener' feelings and the idea that ambition and money are not all that matters! It’s changed how I view and assess 'potential' opportunities. I would highly recommend Lucy to any colleagues that need to find their 'why'.

– Andrew (Hamilton, NZ)

My organisation was going through organisational change which prompted me to consider my job and my future. I was feeling stuck and needed some independent advice to move my thinking on and give me a different perspective.

Lucy was professional, caring, interested and approachable. I like that there was a structured process to step through the different areas.

The coaching clarified my thinking and helped me understand what kind of job I want. It also showed me how to check that roles I was interested in matched what I was after or could be shaped to match they type of job I want.

From feeling stuck and not sure where to head in my career next, I have confirmed my commitment to my current organisation and applied for a new role within it.

I highly recommend Lucy – 10/10. I’ve recommended her to my team and other work colleagues as we continue to go through change in our organisation, and also friends who are feeling stuck in their careers and looking for a way through this.

– Jenny D (Christchurch, NZ)

I was feeling a bit stagnant in my current role and my employer funded the coaching with Lucy. She asks great questions and I liked the balance of pulling together assessments and then introspective reflection.

I now have a better understanding of my ‘must haves’, better clarity of my strengths and interests to maximize or avoid when looking at a future roles, and overall clarity in what I want out of a role. My confidence and wellbeing has also improved.

I’d highly recommend Lucy - 10/10. People who don't know what to do in the future and would benefit from understanding their needs/desires/skills better, as would up and comers or career focused individuals who could be helped by knowing what skills to focus on utilizing.

– KC (Palmerston North, NZ)

I saw Lucy because our team agreed that we'd like to do some coaching to help with Performance Development Plans and support team development work.

I really liked Lucy’s coaching because it helped me think more deeply about what is important to me, how I can use my strengths, and be more aware of what causes me stress so I can more actively manage that in my role.

I have more awareness of what has been leading to burn out or frustration, and also more awareness of what is important to me and how that needs to be considered in how I shape my role at work.

I’m now no longer working weekends, I’m managing expectations more effectively, and I’m providing higher level feedback and not taking so much on.

My wellbeing has improved hugely, as well as my confidence and I highly recommend Lucy’s services. 10/10

– Amy (Auckland, NZ)

I was thinking about my next career move and really unsure of what I wanted to do, but since going through Lucy’s coaching programme I feel in a position to make a really informed/deliberate next step in my career.

Lucy was very friendly and supportive, and a great active listener. Her coaching programme helped me in a lot of unexpected ways. Not only did it give me a good idea of what I want to do next, it also helped make sense of previous work experiences and why I enjoyed or didn't enjoy them. It gave me so much confidence about my current skills and abilities, and really helped me understand what kind of work environment is important to me.

I feel more confident about my skills and abilities and I understand what my core values are and how to explore how present they could be in new roles/environments. The coaching also helped me identify new roles that I would never have considered as an option for me.

I highly recommend Lucy. I think understanding your core values, the type of work/tasks you are good at and motivate you are valuable lessons for anyone regardless of where they are in their career. I think I would particularly recommend Lucy to people in a similar position to where I was – not sure what they want to do next and not sure about how to identify what their options are.

– Erina (Wellington, NZ)

I was bored and stressed in my job and felt that, although I was sure I had some other skills, I didn't know how to create a better work and personal life for myself.

I found Lucy to be professional and also very relatable. She focussed on my situation and led me through various exercises that clarified my skills and desires for my career.

The methods that Lucy used expanded my thinking and allowed me to take actions and make different decisions. Through the coaching I learned much more about myself as well as my skills and was able to make the first change (this is a journey), towards the work and personal life I want to lead. Lucy gave good examples and insights to the exercises we did together and made time to listen to me and help me to think of my career in different, and better, terms.

It may sound cheesy but I feel as if I've got some hope now. I felt stuck in my job, miserable and stressed every day that I was at work. Now I can clearly see what my skills and desires for work and life are and have made the first small steps towards that.

Since the coaching, I won’t take just any job that matches my skills. When I look at jobs I consider if the organisation has similar values to me, will appreciate my working style and allow me to be me (among other things). This has resulted in me not taking a job that I felt wouldn't suit me, and taking another one that I feel will appreciate me and my skill sets, and in turn I will feel empowered to do my best work.

I highly recommend Lucy’s services. 10/10. I know people who, like me, feel that they have little power in the workplace and lack the information to identify their strengths and wants etc. Lucy's coaching opens up so many new possible scenarios because you really understand who you are and what you can do with your talents. I see many colleagues and friends who could do with this.

– Heidi (Wellington, NZ)

I was feeling very lost career wise and unsure of what next, and Lucy helped me to understand me better. I have ended up somewhere I didn't think I'd be but is exactly what I need!

Lucy was very caring and collegial, and really helped give me perspective and be more open to new opportunities. My wellbeing and confidence improved significantly as a result of the sessions and I highly recommend Lucy’s services - 10/10!

– Michelle (Wellington, NZ)

Lucy is very professional and friendly, explains things well and I found her very supportive and encouraging.

The coaching helped me focus on what I care about and how I want to spend my work life as I transition to retirement. As a result, I took a leap into a different role that fits with my values, skills and interests. I wouldn't have considered it without the learnings from the coaching.

My confidence and wellbeing improved, and I also have ideas about what I might do in retirement.

I've already recommended Lucy's services to colleagues in similar situations to myself but also younger colleagues who are at a crossroads in their careers or wanting to do something different but not sure what. I will continue to recommend Lucy - it was a very positive experience and outcome for me. 10/10.

– Lynne (Rolleston, NZ)

I was constantly 'tired but wired' and about to take some unpaid time off. I decided to invest in guided career reflection with Lucy during my time away from work.

I found Lucy to be warm and empathetic, and she's good at keeping conversations focused, while also allowing space for extended reflection where needed.

I loved that the coaching was structured and not just free flow. Having a clear purpose to each session meant there was focused progress in my thinking. I also liked that I was able to bring my everyday circumstances to the session and that going off-track when needed was totally OK.

I feel much clearer now on what my strengths / weaknesses are and what I need in order to feel balanced and fulfilled in my workplace. It confirmed that my job does tick a lot of boxes and I have a clearer idea of what I can put in place to make it more sustainable. I had support in setting boundaries, and reflecting on the importance of boundary setting as a way of leading a more values-driven life. Every task I say 'yes' to is also closing down other possibilities in terms of how I spend my time.

I highly recommend Lucy’s services to anyone who feels like they need to push pause on autopilot and do some focused reflection on their work/home life. 10/10

– Catherine (Wellington, NZ)

I believed my current role was unsustainable, but after Lucy’s coaching sessions I’m much happier at work and focused on what I want while understanding what drains me. I’m happier in myself and more confident.

I highly recommend Lucy’s services – 10/10. She is calm and insightful, asks great questions and has a well structured programme.

– Nic (Christchurch, NZ)

I was having a total rethink of my life, realising that it was all grim, including my career.

Seeing Lucy was worth every penny – an investment in me and my future I am so glad I signed up for. Not only is it going to help me through this career change, I have got the tools to know how to rethink it all through for next time.

Lucy was warm, a great listener, thoughtful and well-paced. She shaped the discourse to suit what was going on for me.

I really liked her style, her empathy and that she really listened. Also the anecdotes (very anonymised) about what other clients have found useful or done – which makes it all feel real. The process and the deep dives into various aspects of me from the different tools were fabulous.

I now have confidence that I can actually do this and I have the self-knowledge and language to do it well. I would be changing career anyway, but without this coaching it would be a scary walk into an unknown future feeling blind and vulnerable. Now it is a confident walk into a visible realm where I know what I want and what I have to offer and how to go about finding it.

I highly recommend Lucy – 10/10 – and have already recommended her to others who are realising they are unhappy in their current careers, and no idea how to start to think about that.

– Kate S (Wellington, NZ)

After 20 years of working the same industry I felt I had plateaued. I wanted to regain life outside of work.

Lucy’s style was warm and engaging, and her coaching gave me an overall view of how I would like to work around life and not have work govern my life. I liked how it made me think about my transferable skills that weren't pieces of paper.

I now know how to deal with negative thoughts that felt like barriers, how to approach conversations with others on the journey I'm embarking on, and set values. I also now realise I have skills to bring to another industry.

Best of all, barriers have been brought down that were stopping me moving forward.

I would recommend Lucy to anyone that is feeling stuck in the sector they are in. Someone who may not have confidence to take the step into the unknown. Someone who would like to get an idea on what good looks like to them. 10/10.

– Matt (Wellington, NZ)

I had not been enjoying my job for many years. When I realised I had seen my therapist twice (in four years) about it, I also realised it was time to take some action.

Through Lucy’s coaching, I have reframed my work and what I do in a more positive way, which has been great, and I also feel like I have options if I do decide to change. I feel like I know what kinds of things I would look for. It feels like a positive forward-looking act, rather than a "I hate my job and must find something else but I don't know what" kind of act.

I really valued seeing the big picture of my skills, values, strengths and interests. It's helped me see how to tweak the way I approach my job in ways to maximise my well-being and satisfaction as I ponder my next steps.

I now have a much more positive mindset, and I feel more empowered in my future thinking.

I highly recommend Lucy’s coaching to anyone wanting to rethink where they are and what they're doing in their job. 10/10.

– Sondra (Wellington, NZ)

I was unhappy at work, but not certain which direction to take to make a change when I had coaching with Lucy. She was calm, considered, supportive and very knowledgeable.

I loved the process, the clue finding, the way it opened my eyes up to my values, my strengths and practical ways to steer my decisions towards what I want.

I learnt some really important skills on how to drill down into what makes me happy and what practical things I can do to ensure I am creating a career which brings me joy.

I now delegate the things that I know will make me unhappy, and focus more on what sparks joy. AND I am now confidentially about to pivot directions in my career.

I highly recommend Lucy to everyone who is reviewing their career and what makes them happy. Because Lucy has a formula that generates results and brings back personal control into people career decisions. 10/10.

– Cathy (Waiheke Island, NZ)

I was lacking direction on which roles were best to apply for and needed some clarification on my future direction. Lucy has a gentle nature which encouraged me to share my thoughts. She clearly guided me through the process of discovery and the steps were clearly defined.

I really appreciated the opportunity to take a step back and consider where I'm at and where I want to be. The coaching helped me be more clear on what my strengths are, and how to spot career opportunities that sing to my values and meet my goals.

I will now be more selective in the types of roles I apply for and be more clear on where I am going and how to sell my strengths.

I highly recommend Lucy’s coaching to anyone who is not clear on where their career is going or is unhappy and looking for guidance to help them secure a future role that will fulfil their needs.

– Jess M (Wellington, NZ)

I was dissatisfied in my job and keen to get help finding what my next move should be.

Lucy was friendly, thoughtful and helpful at taking me through a great process. I really liked that it re-enforced things I knew, but wouldn't have worked out on my own. It built on my understanding of what's important to me, my strengths and skills.

I now understand why my job frustrates me, I have more confidence in my strengths and skills, and a better understanding about what will make me happy in my next role. With Lucy’s coaching I now have confidence to go for a job that will make my happy.

– Hayley (Wellington, NZ)

I was feeling severely overworked and looking for a career change when I contacted Lucy. She is very approachable and her programme is comprehensive. The coaching gave me the tools to be able to clearly assess my situation, skills and opportunities. I feel I now have a better understanding of what to look for in a career to align with my personality and lifestyle. I have more confidence in my skills and can see opportunities so don't feel like I am trapped in my current career, and my overall wellbeing and confidence improved significantly.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone looking to change or start a career, or looking for a solid foundation to base your career or job choices on.

– Erica (Tauranga, NZ)

I was re-starting work after having children and finding it hard to make choices about the work I should do. I was also experiencing some unhelpful thinking patterns around work.

Lucy is a great listener. She combines a practical and incisive approach with genuine care and interest in the client as an individual.

I really liked the structure of the course, using areas such as skills, values, strengths to build up a picture of what kinds of work would be a good fit for me. I also thought that the homework was excellent for consolidating the work done in the sessions.

I learnt to focus more on what motivates and energises me and to look for work that allows me to be my authentic self. I also learnt techniques for dealing with unhelpful thinking patterns.

I am more open to ideas and 'clues' in life as to what jobs could work for me. I am more focused on work that fits my authentic self and more positive that this can be achieved. I am also working on dealing with negative thinking around work.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who needs advice, focus and help with their career or work life, because she helps find a way to integrate who you are with the work you do.

– Clare (Wellington, NZ)

I was unhappy in my job, but facing the prospect of losing it anyway, and had no idea what to do next. I was also at an age (51) when changing jobs/careers can be difficult and risky.

Lucy’s style was friendly, open-minded, not fixed on one particular approach or theory, able to look at pros and cons of any issue, theory or situation.

The coaching was always interesting and entertaining; despite my initial scepticism, we discovered something new and thought-provoking in each session.

I got to know my interests and preferences much more clearly; discovered some possible kinds of jobs I hadn't considered before. Also very valuable was the idea that you don't have to find the perfect job straight away – you can move in exploratory stages.

My confidence and wellbeing has improved, and I now think more broadly, and with less stress, about what might be possible and interesting. I also look at actual job openings with a much more critical eye.

I highly recommend Lucy’s coaching to anyone in a situation like mine: mid-career, lost, uncertain, lacking ideas and inspiration.

It was a very worthwhile, instructive and entertaining experience.

– Richard L (Geneva, Switzerland)

I was feeling directionless in my career/employment options and lacking in confidence. I wasn't sure what my particular skills were or what type of job I should be looking for.

Lucy’s coaching process reminded me of a therapy style approach where you help someone come to their own conclusions by going through the exercises, and asking the right questions.

I liked that it was structured and each session built on the last. It emphasised the need to take your time and think broadly about possible options and your current situation.

It helped to open my mind to other possible careers, ways of working, define my skill set and my interests, and start to put together my own personal narrative around what I want to be doing.

I also feel much more confident to approach writing my CV – it's something I really struggle with. Plus I am doing more job hunting and thinking about a 'portfolio' approach to working.

It was a very useful experience for me, and I would definitely recommend it to others who are unsure of what they want to do. 10/10

– Kate S (Wellington, NZ)

I was reflecting on my future with the intention of making a plan as to what I wanted to achieve in the next five years, including consideration of looking for a new role. I went to see Lucy and achieved what I set out to. It was an enlightening and helpful process.

Lucy took a gentle but firm approach and subtlety led me to the outcomes I wanted and needed to achieve.

By using a variety of tools, my key skills and preferred activities were drawn out and reinforced. I am now clearer about how to "package" and promote myself and will find these types of conversations a lot easier.

I would highly recommend Lucy to anyone that wanted to understand themselves a little better or undertake some self-reflection whether it be from a professional or personal perspective. 10/10.

– Cathy A (Wellington, NZ)

I had no substantive role and didn't know what direction to take with my career.

Lucy’s coaching was fantastic. She is approachable, has a clear communication style and a good grasp on people and their drivers or barriers.

I enjoyed having some focused time to consider/remember what's important to me. I now have a better understanding about the things I enjoy (and value) and where I get energy from. I am also more aware of the things that drain me and where I should redirect some of my energy. It’s going to really help me be more deliberate about my career decisions and choices.

My wellbeing and confidence has improved as a result of the coaching and I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who might be in a rut and needs to be reminded of what's really important to them. 10/10.

– Zena (Wellington, NZ)

I was at a point where I was looking for a new role and needed some advice to pursue this.

Lucy’s process allows you to explore what is important in both your home and work life, and how the two can sit together. It brought alternative options as a real choice.

I found Lucy to be kind, empathetic, empowering and professional. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. It has given me true confidence that the right job will come along. Lucy has a remarkable ability to understand your situation and gently coach you towards finding your own path.

I now have confidence to explore other avenues I wouldn’t previously have considered, I have techniques on the interview process, and was able to take an in depth look at what is really important to me and how this can translate in to the workplace. I’m more skilled at examining a job description and advert, asking the right questions in interviews, and ensuring organisations align with my values.

I highly recommend Lucy’s coaching to anybody who needs assistance in moving on and doesn’t know how and for those that just want to stop and examine where their career currently is and the options that are available to them. 10/10

– Lee (Wellington, NZ)

I went to see Lucy because I had started to question whether the work I had been doing for many years was what I wanted to keep doing. I started falling out of love with my work, was anxious, stressed and frustrated.

Lucy’s approach is calm, structured, non-judgmental and very professional. She knew how to ask questions to help me to get to the bottom of my problems.

I liked that the coaching was focused on me and we could thoroughly talk through my issues. Each session revealed or reinforced something about me. And most importantly Lucy gave me tools to help me navigate my future career.

Lucy showed me techniques to deal with negative thoughts which I've been using and they've helped me loads. I can finally define my skills and strengths and areas for improvement. Knowing all these will help me shape my future career path.

Since the coaching I have stopped focusing on negative thoughts, and after realizing my values I started implementing them in my work life. I definitely got a boost of confidence.

I highly recommend Lucy. 10/10. I've had very positive experience with Lucy and this coaching was exactly what I needed.

– Angela (Wellington, NZ)

I was confused and didn’t have any real clear direction when I saw Lucy for coaching. I really enjoyed the process and her style, which was holistic, nurturing and patient. I liked being guided not told, looking at things with an open mind and looking at the bigger picture. I have come out of coaching with more confidence to make strategic decisions about my career. I also feel like I have more options and a better understanding what I want. I would definitely recommend to others.

– Lockie (Wellington, NZ)

I was reaching my five year anniversary at work and wondering what my options for the future were.

Seeing Lucy gave me clarity of what my issue was, where I stood career-wise and where I might go, and a better understanding of my transferable skills, values and work ethic.

I really liked the structure of the coaching (knowing what you were getting), plus the extra insights and discussion, and teasing out important aspects of career choices and how to pivot.

I am now looking for my next career move, having more clarity about what would be my ideal role and what kind of organisation I would like to work for.

I would definitely recommend Lucy to friends and colleagues. I think we all at some stage reach a point in our careers where we are not sure whether we want to keep on track or make a move into a different place. Lucy’s services help to overcome barriers, learn about oneself and ultimately have the power to decide what's best for you.

– Annette (Wellington, NZ)

I was needing a change in direction career wise when I went to see Lucy. She has a very professional approach and at the same time I always felt relaxed and on track.

My confidence and wellbeing really improved as a result of the coaching and I realised the strengths I have from my experience over the years. It was really helpful going through the results of the questionnaires and understanding how this translates to possibilities for to explore. I gained wonderful insight about where I was at, and how to move forward.

Since the sessions were completed, I was able to really focus on working on my CV and it gave me so many points to include in cover letters. It has made such a difference to how I perceive what I have to offer to prospective employers.

I now have a great new job working with amazing people, thanks to the sessions with Lucy that made the process of pulling everything together for the application and interview so much easier and precise.

I highly recommend Lucy for her professional approach and the completeness of what is covered in the sessions.

 – Lea (Kapiti, NZ)

I went to see Lucy because I was considering a career change after 21 years and was needing some direction.

Lucy's approach was very logical and systematic which I really liked. It was sensibly structured and paced. Her style is a good blend of formal and informal, very positive and affirming.

Lucy asked good questions, and made pertinent observations. She had a sense of humour and was a superb listener.

Although I had started on many of the various activities beforehand, Lucy's approach to values exploration, strengths and skills was deeper and more robust. Furthermore Lucy linked together these important strands, helping creating a clear picture that really helped the exploratory nature of the mission (e.g. potential new career pathways). I completed each session feeling positive, affirmed and enthusiastic regarding further thinking and exploration.

I am now more aware of unhelpful stories/narratives that I keep in my head that limit me. I am more aware of my achievements, and have more self-belief. I can identify and understand much more clearly my values, strengths, preferred working environment and skills. I didn't realise before that strengths can be energising or otherwise. I will from here on in work strategically knowing those skills and strengths that are energising and not currently being utilised.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone I come across! (Friends, acquaintances and colleagues…). Lucy is a professional positive person who can really add value to a person's decision making regarding their thinking about their current and future lifestyle and career.

– Jacqui (South Island, NZ)

I was feeling overwhelmed/overly busy and keen to think and act with clearer intention, with a longer term outlook and greater clarity of purpose.

Lucy’s approach was structured, but with room for flexibility, open and friendly. There was an emphasis on results of the various assessments and probing those results to create insight. She is strong on listening and very professional. I liked her warm and accessible communication style.

My sessions with Lucy empowered me to carve out space to explore how and why I was feeling the way I was, and the permission to think bigger and more creatively and courageously. It also really helped me to recognise how burned out I was – and that I needed to do something about it!

Lucy was an excellent questioner and perspective-giver who helped ignite my imagination so that I could start to entertain new possibilities and examine old problems and mental blockages with fresh energy and perspective. I have happily recommended Lucy to others who are looking to dig deeper and cultivate some form of change.

– Laura F (Wellington, NZ)

Friendly, approachable, clear, concise, informative and helpful is how I’d describe Lucy’s coaching.

I really enjoyed doing the assessments and learning new things/highlighting some facts about myself. My values, interests and strengths were brought to light which makes me more aware of them, and I won't be neglecting things that are important to me in future (my must-haves, etc) so I know I'm living the life that I desire as best as I possibly can.

I recommend Lucy’s coaching to colleagues and friends who need guidance into their long-term career goals and don't know where they're heading.

– Tash (Wellington, NZ)

I was unhappy with my current job and career trajectory when I contacted Lucy. Her approach was really great. She was able to help me clarify my thinking, and steer the conversation but not dictate it.

I appreciated discovering all the tools that I can continue to use, and talking to someone who was able to help sort through my thoughts and provide some new ideas.

I found it really helpful talking through barriers and how they can be overcome, and getting a better understanding of my skills/strengths/interests and how these all relate to each other and careers.

I highly recommend Lucy – 10/10.

– Judith (Wellington, NZ)

I saw Lucy because development opportunities inside the company as well as offers from other companies made me start wondering what it was I wanted.

Lucy is very professional, calm and understanding. It was great to go through the different exercises and talk through things with a professional rather than a person who thinks they know!

It was a great way to learn new things about myself, and I now think more consciously about the tasks and projects that I get thrown into or am offered.

I would highly recommend Lucy to other friends or colleagues that are looking for some insights into themselves and what is important for them in a career.

– Jeremiah (Auckland, New Zealand)

I wasn't comfortable in my workplace and wasn't sure whether it was the company or my career choice that wasn't working.

Lucy’s coaching helped me clarify my values and strengths, while providing support to my challenging work situation.

She was caring and supportive, and helped me articulate my own opinions. Lucy was always friendly and helpful and showed genuine concern for my wellbeing. This was really important in moving forward.

I have more confidence in the skills I have, and realised the importance of work that is aligned with my preferred working style. I’m also aware of aspects of my work that energise and de-energise me.

I now have a new role with a new company and, should I decide to take a different career path in future, I’ll have the confidence to explore other options.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who is feeling out of place in their current job and people who are finding their work a constant chore.

– Oliver (Wellington, NZ)

Seeing Lucy for career coaching was the best investment I ever made. When I went to see her, I was feeling burnt out and frustrated that I had no control over my career. I was needing a change but not knowing what I wanted to change to.

Lucy had a structured approach using activities to guide you and help piece together what you need to know about yourself to come to answers.

My confidence and wellbeing has really improved. I ended up with a deeper understanding of myself, a fresh look at my career options, an idea of what I want and need from life, and a dash of hope and excitement for the future.

I highly recommend Lucy to any friends and colleagues that know deep inside that there is more to life than the muddling through what they're currently doing.

– Blair M (Wellington, NZ)

I’m so glad I met Lucy! She added massive value to my life.

I went to see Lucy because I was considering a career change after 13 plus years in real estate industry.

She was patient, considerate, consultative, and re-assuring. I liked the fact that we didn't jump straight into finding a solution (new job type). I liked the process we worked through and I could see the value in going on that journey through our six sessions. I felt encouraged that it was okay to seek more, and that finding a more ideal fit was possible.

I gained a clearer understanding of myself and my needs, and clarity on my ideal work environment / setup. The coaching enabled me to build up my confidence, and feel that it's okay to seek out what I need.

I now think more positively about what's possible. I trust in the process and have a proactive view / outlook regarding how I will approach that journey.

The likelihood of recommending Lucy – 10/10. I’d recommend her coaching services to anyone unsure of whether they are in the right role, people searching for more meaning in their work and people who want to take active steps in designing their ideal life.

– Andrew (Wellington, NZ)

When I contacted Lucy I had been unemployed for a while and was feeling lost on what to do next.

Through working with Lucy, my overall confidence and wellbeing improved, and I now feel more confident in my career related decisions. I feel I have the tools needed to start moving in the right direction towards my career goals.

Lucy was empathetic, informative and polished, and I liked how each step in her programme fitted in and worked cohesively with the next.

I think people forget about where they want to get in life and sometimes need direction. I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who feels like this, or that they're in a rut.

– Ben (Wellington, NZ)

When I went to see Lucy for coaching I was in a job that I didn’t enjoy but I didn’t have the confidence to look outside my area for other opportunities.

Lucy was easy going, and very easy to talk to. Time just flies and you get something out of every session. I liked the casual feeling about how we went about the coaching and how it just flowed.

The coaching process gave me an idea of what I actually want to do when it comes to work and the environment that I want to work in. It has also highlighted why I am frustrated in my current job.

I’m now thinking about what else I could do and am confident about the strengths and skills I can use in other roles.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who is at a crossroad in their career or lacking confidence to find another job.

– Nyrell (Wellington, NZ)

I was looking for some help planning my next career step when I went to see Lucy. She has an excellent program to help you, and her style is professional and caring.

It was great to have an independent person to talk to, to work out what good looks like for me.

I got clearer about what energises me, I built confidence and increased understanding on why my current role was not working for me. It gave me support to make the next move.

I have now resigned my current role, and I have a different framework for choosing my next opportunity.

I highly recommend her to friends and colleagues that are looking for help with future career decisions. 10/10.

– Andy C (Wellington, NZ)

I was considering changes to the way I worked and what I did for work, but was running into numerous barriers – my own self-perception and lack of confidence, and I didn’t have the language to describe or understand my work self.

Since working with Lucy, I am much more confident, my wellbeing has improved, and I now have greater self-awareness and can approach my own development and future career decisions with much greater clarity. I am also more open to talking about my values, strengths (and weaknesses) and skills.

Lucy's approach is both structured (in terms of a 6-session approach) but also tailored to my own particular areas of focus. She is very personable and supportive of the strengths and uniqueness that each individual brings to work.

I appreciated the Career Workbook too – it means I have a physical record of the development in my own thinking and perspectives. The focus on strengths, skills, values etc. was practical and gave me the language I needed to understand and communicate myself better to others. It has also helped me get a more holistic perspective of myself, what I am looking for from work, and where I might be more likely to thrive.

I highly recommend Lucy's services to people who are in a similar position as I was – not having a good sense of what value I have to offer, and not having a clear language to talk/think about development.

– Richard B (Wellington, NZ)

I went to see Lucy because I was feeling stuck and very unhappy in my role, and unsure how to get 'unstuck'. I was confused about what my next career move should be.

Lucy is extremely personable, supportive, and empathic, but she also challenges unhelpful or unfounded beliefs and assumptions. I found her very easy to trust and to share very personal feelings and thoughts.

The structured approach was very helpful, and each session seemed to build on the previous ones. I found the strengths and skills sessions especially helpful.

The coaching has given me much greater clarity about what to look for in future jobs, and what types of people and environments are likely to make me either satisfied or frustrated. The language used really resonates with what is in a lot of job ads and PDs, so I can more easily identify roles that are suitable.

I am already evaluating job ads differently and trying to think more critically about what is a good fit, rather than just whether I am qualified.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who is feeling dissatisfied or stuck in their current career and wants to figure out what would be more satisfying.

– Laura (Wellington, NZ)

I was going in a direction in work that wasn't satisfying when I contacted Lucy for coaching. She was very friendly and kind – asked all the right questions to help me figure out my own answers and so was able to give a direction to what seemed like just messy ideas.

I liked how all the different parts of the course connected – interests, strengths, skills etc, and the focus on how to show your value to employers and choose where/who you would like to work for.

The coaching helped me realise what I am good at and how to assess whether a job is or isn't good for me. It also helped me realise all the flexible working options that are out there rather than just a 9-5 in one workplace. I feel like I have more direction in what I want and where to look for it.

I highly recommend Lucy to people looking to change careers but not having an idea of where to head to instead.

– Justina (Wellington, NZ)

I was having a difficult time at work and wanted to explore other options.

Lucy’s coaching gave me the chance to think more consciously about what I enjoy and to better recognise my strengths and skills. She was warm, approachable, professional and methodical and had clear boundaries.

I enjoyed the process and am grateful for Lucy’s wisdom and the chance to get a fresh perspective. Before the coaching programme was over, I began to recognise things I enjoyed about my job and to focus on those things more. I feel more at ease with my situation and confident about the opportunity to pursue new things.

I recommend Lucy to friends and colleagues who may have lost sight of their special talents and wish to think in new ways about the possibilities that exist.

– Anna G (Wellington, NZ)

I was at a career crossroad and also the end of a fixed term contract was looming when I contacted Lucy for career coaching.

I liked her structure, and how all the pieces come together. I liked re-reading the workbook before each session to see if anything needed changing, and refresh what had been covered in the past.

I really benefited from the focus, and refreshing my mind on skills and strengths etc. I re-wrote my CV and online presence, and am able to focus on key concepts to apply for jobs and prepare for interviews, and narrow down ideal job criteria. I’m also more confident.

I would highly recommend Lucy to other colleagues who are finding themselves at a crossroads and lack clarity and direction on how they want to progress.

– Fanny (Wellington, NZ)

I am recovering from illness and need to find new work that I can transition into while managing fatigue.

Lucy’s questioning is thought-provoking. She is organised and well prepared, and the programme is comprehensive and really well structured. Lucy was sensitive to my needs and energy levels.

As well as insights about my values and interests, it gave me a reminder of the many transferable skills and strengths I have to offer. Using these insights, I’ll keep an open mind when exploring new work fields and opportunities.

My wellbeing and confidence has improved, and I can now move forward on my return-to-work path.

I would recommend Lucy's services to anyone unsatisfied in their current employment, or looking for a change, as Lucy's services will help you gain clarity on where to head next.

– Nicky M (Wellington, NZ)

I'd just recently come out of four years of burn out, and before that living my dream of doing humanitarian aid work.

I'm so grateful for Lucy’s coaching and really glad that I did it. It has been interesting, revealing, and hugely worthwhile.

It has completely opened up the options as to what I might consider doing, whereas before I was focused on a very narrow field.

Lucy is professional, warm, friendly, engaged and well prepared. Her coaching was comprehensive and holistic, and revealed a lot about me. It was well planned and executed (eg. the fortnightly spacing was great). It has given me much greater insight into myself and how to look for 'the right' position for me.

I have much greater self-awareness, and lots of practical tools to further explore what is a good pathway for me.

I would highly recommend Lucy to anyone I knew who was struggling in their current work and wanted something better. 10/10.

– Vera (Wellington, NZ)

I was feeling stuck in a job I wasn't enjoying when I contacted Lucy. I found her style conversational, warm, engaging and insightful and I felt supported throughout the entire coaching process. Lucy gave me the opportunity to share in a safe place what was going on for me and to get clearer about myself, what is important to me and what matters most.

It was really helpful getting clarity on the full picture – strengths, skills, interests, values – all coming together as a picture that presents the best version of myself, so I can make informed decisions when opportunities arise or are pursued. I am more confident 'front footing my narrative' now.

I am playing to my strengths more and embracing opportunities within my current role. I am more confident about what to say yes or no to. My mindset has changed in terms of my focus, I am not all about finding other career paths but rather looking to springboard off the role I am in – to other future opportunities as a more transitional thing rather than a completely different thing.

– Rochelle J (Wellington)

I had a general sense my current career had run its course and I wanted a new challenge, but needed help putting some structure around determining options.

Lucy's approach is well structured and engaging – it gets you thinking. I liked finding areas to explore that I perhaps didn't expect, and uncovering skills I enjoy that aren't necessarily used frequently at the moment.

I now feel more confident about making a change, and that my skills are transferrable. The sessions allowed me to take a step back and think about myself, what I enjoy, and where I should head.

I'm making connections in the areas I'm interested in pursuing, and I have a clearer picture of my values, the type of business I'd like to work for, and what I could bring.

– Scott F (Wellington, NZ)

I wanted a change but I was anxious that I didn’t have the skills I needed and I doubted my employability. Lucy’s coaching programme helped me understand the skills and talents I had that could be applied to new work.

The content revealed interesting, helpful information and Lucy’s insights helped me understand how to apply what I learnt.

I gained considerable clarity around my future career direction and that clarity gave me hope and excitement, and relieved a lot of anxiety.

I now feel more focused and empowered. I feel less concerned about the future, and more focused on the skills and passions I have.

The whole course of sessions was amazing. Lucy has a really attentive, insightful and caring style. I highly recommend her to anyone who is unsatisfied with their career, or uncertain about what work makes them happy.

– Jonathan (Wellington, NZ)

I had a general foreboding about spending another 20 years doing the role I was in and dealing with the stress.

Lucy’s coaching was friendly, structured and nurturing. She helped me get a clear vision of key happiness ingredients, a succinct summary of the issues, and goals. The frameworks help identify the core issues which in turn give substance to the ideas.

The coaching altered my questions to be more bold in what I was looking for and what would send me home at 5pm in a better headspace. I also made a decision to leave my current role and act with conviction on the findings from the coaching.

I’d highly recommend Lucy to others who are exhausted and stressed by their jobs. It was definitely a good move to engage her services.

– Rob (Wellington, NZ)

Lucy is approachable, trustworthy and encouraging. She’s very professional and helped me to see what was happening and what was possible.

Through her coaching I was able to get a clear picture of what I am actually facing in my current job and why my confidence was slipping. Lucy helped me to see that it wasn't just me and gave me some really useful ways of thinking about my strengths and how they could be applied. Very supportive.

I now have a clearer idea of what I need and some tools to help me achieve it. My next performance discussion will be more structured, my CV will be more personal and I will be better prepared for my next interview.

I would highly recommend Lucy to colleagues, friends and family. Anyone wanting to think about their next steps.

– Jo (Wellington, NZ)

I was feeling confused around reoccurring themes happening in the workplace, and Lucy’s coaching totally worked for me.

Lucy was able to help me reduce my worries and stresses by listening and then applying her strategy to allow me to understand my beliefs and values, which gave me back my control of situations.

I really liked how the sessions were structured and with a clear process but flexible enough to be relevant.

I now have clarity around what good looks like for me and will look for opportunities to fit with my values. I have gained a really good understanding of what energizes me (and why certain things don’t!).

To walk away with the simple knowledge of what drives me is hugely powerful and I already feel confident that I have the ability to make sure the next move is the right move.

I definitely recommend Lucy’s services to anyone who has lost their way or needs a new career pathway. 10/10!

– Sally T (Wellington, NZ)

I went to see Lucy because I wanted a career change and was unsure what to change too. What I really liked about her coaching was the friendly, calm, safe environment, having one on one discussions, figuring things out and putting it all together at the end.

Each session built my confidence and feeling of self-worth and brought me closer to what I wanted to achieve.

I'm now more focused and not feeling so overwhelmed. I know what I want and am good at, and have direction and confidence to achieve.

The likelihood of me recommending Lucy to others is 10 our of 10. Lucy has reminded me of my values, strengths, what motivates me etc ... The whole process was insightful and extremely helpful. I think sometimes we forget these things about ourselves or may not even be aware of them. Not knowing this can make self-worth, relationships and connecting with others quite hard. Working with Lucy has given me clarity and stability in who I am, confidence to believe in myself and putting trust in my capabilities.

– Marohette (Wellington, NZ)

I needed mid-career advice on how to move forward and find out what I really wanted to do.

Lucy has a very considerate approach and very open style of coaching which helped me to identify my preferences. I enjoyed the free flowing approach along with the set topic per session. There was plenty of opportunity to explore.

I now have a far better understanding of my values, interests and strengths and I’ll be making sure that any future job will align with these, rather than just being the next step in my current career.

I highly recommend Lucy’s coaching to anyone who is stuck in their career, as she will help you to understand more about the things that are important to make the next step.

Very happy with the tools I now have to find the next career challenge.

– Peter (Wellington, NZ)

I went to see Lucy because I was unhappy in my career. I found her to be very open and personable – it was easy to chat about professional barriers and how to overcome them. The sessions were set out with clear agendas, and a variety of tools were used which I found engaging.

I now I have a clearer understanding of what is important to me and I know which job types to avoid and can spot the red flags straight away.

My confidence and wellbeing has improved significantly. I recommend Lucy’s coaching to anyone unhappy in their current career path. There are some great insights to be learnt by taking the sessions.

– Mel M (Wellington, NZ)

I was feeling trapped in my job and after coaching with Lucy I have become aware that there can be a life outside of teaching, which I did not think was possible. I now understand that I have valuable transferable capability and I am being a lot more self-reflective than ever before.

Lucy is a very good listener. She has sound advice and strategies based on extensive experience. The likelihood of recommending Lucy to others is 10/10.

– Tim (Christchurch, NZ)

I had decided to leave my job in academia and was in the process of looking at new opportunities and making some plans for the future.

Lucy’s sessions were structured and supported by research and tools to assist in career planning. She has a calm, thoughtful approach in the discussions and is very reassuring.

The variety of ways of considering career choices appealed to me (i.e. values, interests, clue-finding, strengths, etc). I also liked the questions that Lucy would pose, getting me to perhaps slow down and really reflect on the findings and/or perspective.

For me personally, it was good to have the structure and empirically supported ways of approaching career choices, combined with open, relaxed discussion.

The sessions also forced me to allocate time to reflect on what it is I might want to do.

I now look for clues! I look for clues about tasks and contexts that appeal and those that don't. I also acknowledge and appreciate skills and interests that I have, more so than previously.

I highly recommend Lucy’s services, especially to those who feel more at ease basing discussion on tools/surveys/frameworks that are proven to tap into findings and insights about ourselves.

– Kate D (Wellington, NZ)

I was fed up with the future prospects and current conditions in my employment.

It’s given me a nudge in the right direction, clarity of thinking and more confidence. I’m now actively looking for new employment.

Likelihood of recommending Lucy’s coaching on a scale of one to 10? Definitely a 10

– Blair (Wellington, NZ)

I moved cities and needed a change in career direction but didn't have a clear idea of how to do this. Lucy helped me look at aspects of myself and recognise transferrable skills I hadn't realised before.

– Amy (Wellington, NZ)

I went to see Lucy because I realised I wanted a career change, and quickly because I was heading for a promotion I didn’t want…

Lucy was really supportive and good at drawing out information in a gentle manner. I liked the structure and insights, and the added information via the online questionnaires and the workbook.

From her coaching process, I’m now certain that the new path I’ve chosen is the right one for me. Lucy had some really good guidance too around things to be aware of so I don’t fall into the same traps that led me to where I had got to.

The insights gained were very helpful and I'm much more aware of the choices I make and why. In future, decisions will be made more consciously and for myself. My confidence and sense of wellbeing has improved dramatically.

Would I recommend Lucy’s services? Absolutely! Anyone making big career decisions (whether that is to change, or to take on bigger roles) could really benefit.

– Jamie (Wellington, NZ)

Before I met with Lucy, I was worried that I would be stuck in my current industry with limited opportunities but now I can see where my skill set can be applied to a variety of different types of roles.

Lucy was engaging, compassionate, and honest. The coaching gave me the time to really think about what I wanted for the next stage in my career and the exercises and surveys really helped me understand myself better.

Her coaching sessions have given me the confidence to see where my skills can be applied and I am now applying for jobs I know I would enjoy, focusing on what I now recognise as my key strengths, values, and needs.

– Katie (Wellington, NZ)

I was feeling stuck in terms of my career direction, but after coaching with Lucy I gained a clear understanding of who I am, what I need and what interests me and how to shape my career around this.

Her coaching style was friendly, attentive and constructive, and the process was thorough. I learned a lot about myself in a relatively short amount of time.

I now have more confidence and engagement in my work and where I am heading. My career goals no longer seam fluffy and unattainable, but tangible and real.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who is driven and wanting to clarify their career direction because she helps bring clarity and helps people realise their potential.

– Liam (Wellington, NZ)

This was the deepest exploration of my strengths and talents I've found so far.

Lucy's approach is friendly, supportive and exploratory. She is compassionate and helpful, a good listener and an experienced and intuitive guide with tools to share.

I am now letting go of some perfectionistic tendencies, replacing them with more compassion for myself, which is helpful for me emotionally and professionally. I still work with excellence, just not so much perfectionism. That's a relief!

I would recommend Lucy's service to anyone looking to deepen their understanding of themselves and their abilities, strengths and things to work on. It is a wonderful exploratory process which empowers an individual to see things in a deeper, and perhaps new, way. It is a necessary process for someone like me with many interests and abilities who can't decide what she wants to be when she grows up, and I'm well grown now! :-) The process helped hone in on my personal attributes and highlights what career options may be truly fulfilling.

Lucy will help a person to find themselves and encourage them to consider career opportunities that are in alignment with one's core true self, in order to find real satisfaction in the workplace.

– Stephanie (Oamaru, NZ)

I had had a great career, but it was no longer challenging me and had lost its lustre. I went to see Lucy because I wanted to explore my personality, my passions and beliefs before I took my next steps and to be sure I hadn't missed something that may be more satisfying, rewarding and enjoyable. I wanted to ensure I was giving myself the best chance to maximise my workplace happiness.

Lucy is intelligent, astute, and very importantly, an experienced coach who knows what she is talking about. I found Lucy to be extremely approachable, an excellent listener who would let me talk (often at length!) and then would cleverly and concisely interpret my thoughts into actions and outputs that I could work with.

Lucy's 6-course programme gave me a 'career epiphany', that only really came about because Lucy and I diligently worked through each step of this programme in order. The process allowed me to learn about myself in ways I had not previously considered, including identifying my values, what inspires me (and what doesn't) and in so doing has renewed my motivation for work!

This was the perfect programme for me. Lucy was a total professional and I felt safe in her office to say what I felt and thought, and believe the programme and timing of each stage was perfect for my needs.

I learnt more about myself in this process than I have ever gleaned from feedback from my peers. Probably because I felt I was free to say and think what I wanted too, with no negative judgement by Lucy. I have a new vocabulary at my disposal now to describe my strengths to future employers, and have learnt that there are certain tasks I should avoid in order to be fulfilled by work. My sense of wellbeing and confidence has improved dramatically.

I am now giving myself permission to choose what I want to do, rather than do what I felt I should do. I haven't yet put this into action – but am about too – so am genuinely excited about my next job rather than resigned to it!

I highly recommend Lucy’s services – 10 out of 10!

– Helen (Wairarapa, NZ).

I felt immediately upon meeting Lucy that I could trust in her professionalism and breadth of knowledge. I felt my thoughts and feelings about my current role were immediately validated which meant I could move past the feelings and into constructive dialogue about next steps.

Her coaching gave me the specific tools to take my next step in my career and helped me to get my confidence back.

I learnt that the problem with my job was not with me but with the nature of the job. It did not align with my values, motivational skills or realised strengths. This was very empowering. I now have the confidence in myself to move forward bravely and seek out the job that I WANT…

I know what questions to ask of future employers and will seek a job that aligns with my values, strengths and skills and won't just settle for a job I can do.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who is feeling stuck, miserable when they go to work, at a time of transition personally or professionally, or after redundancy.

– Jane (Wellington, NZ)

I felt stuck and unfulfilled in my career, with a strong sense that time was running out.

Lucy was professional, informed, personal and insightful. I liked the tools such as the card sorts to identify what's important to me. It's added a new layer to 'what I'm good at'.

I now see more potential in myself and feel I have a lot more choices than I previously assumed. This is empowering but also a challenge!

I’d highly recommend Lucy – 10/10.

– Kathryn (Wellington, NZ)

Through the coaching process I figured out what to do for the next year or two! I came up with a great idea for a project that I might not have come to if I hadn't been nutting through things with Lucy.

The likelihood of recommending Lucy is 10 out of 10. I’d recommend her to anyone who was struggling to know what direction to take, what they have to offer.

– Lotta (Wellington, NZ)

I was unhappy and dissatisfied with my job at the time. Lucy was a great listener and I like how she used various tools to explore some importance aspects about my personality, strengths and work style.

I really benefited from having the guidance and opportunity to have a comprehensive look at my situation.

I now have a calmer approach to work situation and more focused job search.

I recommend Lucy’s services, especially to mid career people who have the freedom to choose what to do to help make the right decision.

– Lin (Wellington, NZ)

I was nearing the end of a contract position that I hadn't found satisfying and wanted to consider carefully my next career and lifestyle steps.

Thanks to Lucy’s coaching I now have more clarity about my values and greater confidence about pathways that will suit me. I also have a much stronger internal compass and already am using this to make more purposeful decisions.

Lucy has a warm and easy rapport, a good listener and guider of conversation, really skilled at gently helping you to connect dots.

I appreciated the structure of having six sessions set up and a process and framework on which to hang my everyday thoughts about where next on to.

I rate Lucy’s services 10/10 and I’d recommend her to anyone considering a career shift, particularly if they have been doing the same thing for a long time and may need some extra help to make a change.

– Katherine (Wellington, NZ)

Life-changing-ly good stuff!

When I decided to see Lucy for coaching I was considering a new career and absolutely overwhelmed by possibilities. She is a great listener who turned my long rambling tirades into focused and useful insights. Through the process I focused the chaos and learned even more possibilities.

I now focus better on doing things that energise me, I organise my options much more efficiently and I am overall more positive about my career.

I highly recommend Lucy because she has a gift for seeing through problems and giving brilliant advice for getting through them and aiming for something meaningful and worthwhile.

 – Jenny (Wellington, NZ)

I was uncertain about whether to stay in my current role or if it was time for a change.

Going through the six sessions of coaching was really helpful. It made me consider things I hadn't thought of and think about what worked best for me. Each of the sessions was constructive and covered different things and built on each other. I liked that the coaching looked at different aspects of workplaces and your personality.

I now feel more empowered to be proactive about my current employment, and confident about looking for new employment in future that works for me.

– Heather (Wellington, NZ)

I walked into Lucy's office completely burnt out and unhappy at a challenging, draining job. On top of that I was scared of making a mid-career change at my age.

Lucy is calmness itself. She has a talent for identifying strengths you often don't see yourself. She knows how to ask the right questions, and her encouragement is empowering!

I LOVED learning about energizing/draining activities, and I really appreciated Lucy's bird's eye-view over my situation. She gave me so many insights into myself!

I now have greater confidence and importantly, new excitement about finding a good fit.

I am much more aware of desired outcomes when communicating and making choices (life-changing!) and I feel like I just fit better into my own skin now that I understand how to look out for the things which energize me. There is also a comfort in knowing that some things drain me – the tools Lucy gave me for how to deal with draining activities made so much sense.

The likelihood of recommending Lucy is 10 out of 10. I’d recommend her to anybody who wishes to either start a career or make a mid-career change ... or just doesn't feel like they have found their niche. I wish I had had access to this much earlier in my life!

Career changed = very happy client!

– Jeanne (Wellington, NZ)

I feel so much more focused and driven after working with Lucy.

I was at a crossroads in my career and I needed help clarifying my next steps. Lucy has a very gentle approach, is organised and is personable which made opening up very easy.

I liked that the coaching spanned multiple weeks, giving me enough time to reflect and build on what I'd learnt during the previous session.

I’ve come away with a better sense of my values and principles which I continue to draw on when making work related decisions, and I'm adopting a more holistic approach to life and work. I highly recommend Lucy’s services to anyone struggling to work out the next steps in their careers.

– Karen (Wellngton, NZ)

I was stuck in yet another job I didn’t like and thought; I have another 15 years in the workforce so I need to find something I like doing.

The coaching process with Lucy made me think about a lot of things I didn’t normally think about. It made me work out what was important to me. I left my job, gained new skills temping, and was able to have a break between assignments. I no longer apply for jobs that I know will be wrong for me and I’ve now applied for a role I’m excited about using all the information I gathered through the process.

I highly recommend Lucy – she is friendly, pragmatic, sensible and fun!

– Ruth (Kapiti, NZ)

Her coaching gave me a sense of direction, purpose and clarity that I can use when thinking about future career options.

I'm now starting to look at career options more carefully and think through things with a sense of knowing exactly what I want and value.

I highly recommend Lucy’s coaching – 10/10.

– Ange (Wellington, NZ)

I was frustrated at work after a restructure and had taken on a major task that was incredibly stressful. This caused me to think once more about different career opportunities. This time, however, I knew I wanted to be intentional about my next career move.

Lucy’s coaching gave me time out and a safe space to discuss my career and where I would like to take it. There were many 'eureka' moments for me as part of the sessions and the homework. It gave me greater knowledge about how and why I have reached the current point in my career and what I want to get from it in the future.

Lucy is skilled at discovering and focusing on the key insights. She is approachable and makes the client feel comfortable, but doesn't shy away from asking hard questions that give deeper insight.

The coaching sessions really caused me to re-evaluate the way I think about my current job and work in general. They pushed me to take a step back and examine what I need and want to get from my career. They also reminded me of those fields and subjects which really interest me. I now have greater confidence to make a significant career change in the future and greater focus on what really matters to me.

I have also seen the immediate benefit of having a different perspective towards my current role. I have been less stressed and frustrated and have gained greater focus.

I have taken away many valuable insights about myself and the way I think which have made me approach and think about situations in work and life differently. My sense of wellbeing and confidence has increased greatly.

I definitely recommend Lucy’s services.

– Hannah (Wellington, NZ)

A great experience – Lucy is a great coach!

When I went to see Lucy I was having a year not working and deciding where my next venture could be. She was very professional, warm and welcoming. I felt we didn't rush our sessions and everything was explained fully.

The process gives you confidence in knowing who you really are. I really liked finding out about my strengths, what energises me and what exhausts me! The coaching gave me a clear direction going forward.

I recommend Lucy to anyone who I come across who happens to mention they would like career coaching! 10/10.

– Lucy J (Wellington, NZ)

I was feeling unsatisfied with my current situation and seeking to make changes in my work-life balance. Thanks to Lucy’s coaching I am now much clearer about what I want in my future working life and I also feel a lot more confident about my strengths and what I can bring to an employer or client.

I enjoyed Lucy’s ability to explore and probe for more information during our discussions. The exercises I was set, combined with the testing, made a lot of useful information available to me and having that information, combined with the coaching sessions, was very empowering.

I think about myself as more of a valuable proposition and will be clearer about what I am looking for and more focussed in planning for the future.

I would definitely recommend Lucy’s services.

 – Kate (Wellington, NZ)

I was not enjoying the role I was doing and was considering my future within the organisation. The coaching gave me an opportunity to examine my own strengths and weaknesses, and how they applied in the work environment.

I found a number of the exercises extremely beneficial in identifying skills and attributes that I never really considered that I had, and that gave me the confidence to think about how easily these could apply in another career.

I think it has improved my confidence, particularly in relation to the value that I add to the current organisation I am working for.

Lucy is very easy to speak to, is obviously very knowledgeable and gave great advice. The likelihood of me recommending her services is 10/10.

– Nic (Wellington, NZ)

It’s been great working with Lucy – she is very personable and encouraging, but also practical and thorough, and puts the onus back on you to process what has been discovered in each session.

I liked the assessments that helped me clarify my strengths and values. I liked the length of time for each appointment so it didn't feel hurried, and I liked the fact that it gave me confidence in my own abilities.

It was just what I needed. I was looking for direction and confidence in my career path and someone to give me perspective on that. As well as my newfound confidence, the coaching gave me an appreciation of my skills and a clearer idea of which jobs to look for. I got the third job I applied for!

– Sam (Wellington, NZ)

When I went to see Lucy I was feeling jaded and unhappy in my current role, but since coaching with her I have much more focussed thinking on how to move forward in my career. She has a lovely gentle encouraging manner, and just quietly steers you in the right direction.

I really enjoyed focussing on myself for once. I have a clear idea of my strengths, some of which I wouldn't have identified as such, and how they are transferrable.

I would recommend Lucy to colleagues, friends, family - everyone! It can be scary to expose yourself to this type of inward looking scrutiny and Lucy has lovely, non-threatening manner.

– Stephanie (Wellington, NZ)

I was at a mid-point in my working life and conscious of the possibility of a career change. Through career coaching with Lucy, I now have a clearer understanding of my strengths, motivations and values.

Each of the sessions supported each other and gradually built towards a positive conclusion.

The sessions changed the way in which I had previously viewed a career change and I now feel more confident that I would be able to identify meaningful employment opportunities. I look at potential job opportunities from the perspective of it being the right fit for me as opposed to how I could fit into such a position.

The likelihood of recommending Lucy's coaching services to others? 10 out of 10. I’d definitely recommend Lucy to colleagues who are considering a career change so that their likelihood of making a positive transition is improved.

– Cam (Wellington, NZ)

I found the whole coaching experience outstanding and enormously helpful. Lucy is encouraging, highly professional and warm. She asks excellent questions and her coaching is supplemented with well targeted materials and resources.

I went to see Lucy because I was not on my ‘A game’ – not feeling clear on direction of my career, or how I could have more flexibility to fit my home life.

I'm clear again on my values, and for the first time especially clear with their fit against the concept of a career for me (something I had put on hold for a few years).

I also have clarity and confidence achieved through excellent exercises and sessions, stimulus with time to explore opportunities and ideas that arose from the sessions, and an expanded set of options for a future career.

I highly recommend Lucy’s coaching because it's a personal, powerful way to make a difference.

– Nicholas (Wellington, NZ)

Feeling a bit stuck in my career, I had been researching ideas on how to progress. I'd looked into professional development courses, but nothing seemed to offer quite the right pay off for my company and myself. I'd been to some meet ups, asked around about mentors and googled what other people with my sort of experience were up to, where they were heading in their careers – to see if I could get some inspiration.

I came across Lucy's website in my research. I've not tried career coaching before but I thought it would be a good step for me, to help me distill all my thoughts, and to gain a fresh perspective and hopefully some clearer focus on where to from here.

I appreciated how respectful and kind Lucy was, treating me as a professional, with no judgement. She was calm, engaged and thoughtful.

I felt a bit guilty focussing so much on myself, but it was valuable work to do and a good investment in my career. The coaching forced me to take time to look at myself and to identify and articulate what I'm good at, what I enjoy, and to focus on what situation would enable me to be my best or at least a better self.

Lucy helped me dig deep and I made the brave choice to leave the position I was in without another one to go to specifically and I'm now working on positioning myself for the future. I am confident that a portfolio style career would be ideal for me. Now to make it work!

– Nicky (Wellington, NZ)

I saw Lucy for coaching because I felt unfulfilled in my working life. I found her to be approachable, helpful and current – I felt like Lucy was interested.

Her coaching allowed me time to think about what I was doing, and to think about my strengths and skills outside of the work I was being paid for. It also helped me to identify the characteristics of an organisation where I want to work.

I highly recommend Lucy’s career coaching. After her sessions, I was definitely pickier in the type of work that I was looking for, and I felt emboldened to go and speak to organisations.

– Angela (Wellington, NZ)

I went to see Lucy after resigning from a role that was more complex than I was used to. By the end of the coaching sessions, I rekindled belief in myself and my skills, when I had little left.

I liked that Lucy was easy to talk to and was willing to listen and understand my situation in order to give a positive perspective. She was friendly, supportive, understanding, encouraging and positive.

My job seeking mentality has changed from just looking to apply for a role to make ends meet, to a more focused approach when applying for a role relevant to my strengths and abilities.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who isn't happy in their job and is looking to find belief in themselves again. Lucy is a great, caring person and is amazing at what she does :-)

– Kui (Kapiti Coast, NZ)

When I went to see Lucy for coaching, I was unhappy in my role and because I had worked for a number of companies in the same industry for nearly 18 years I  knew that just changing company would not solve my problem. But I didn't really know how to define my skill set or how to sell myself to another industry.

In fact, I was so unhappy that I couldn’t even think about where I would be excited to work. I was worried about how I was going to spend my next 20 years of work life.

Lucy was gentle, understanding and encouraging. She listens and provides great insight. She gave me useful and easy techniques to better manage work related stress whilst helping me to plan my next move. The initial sessions really helped me see why I was so unhappy in my role and that there were good reasons for it (and that it wasn't all my fault!).

Lucy’s coaching gave me clarity as to what I bring to an organisation. I gained a clear idea of my strengths, skills and motivators which means I am now much better equipped to job hunt and find the right role for me. Now I feel I can say with conviction what I'm good at and what skills and strengths I bring. I will better analyse potential employers before I apply or accept a position. Most important for me is I have renewed faith that I can find a new job that I will enjoy!

I remember when I came to my first appointment I was so very low that I was sceptical that this would be the answer for me. However, what Lucy said was 100% true – trust in the process and know by the end everything will be a lot clearer and you will know how to sell yourself and where you want to head to. And I do! Thank you!

– Leeanne (Wellington, NZ)

I felt like I had lost direction and Lucy’s coaching gave me insight into myself, helped me to find a focus and also gave me practical solutions/steps to take. Her approach is warm and friendly but she was also able to push me in a gentle but firm way!

I'm now taking actual steps which I find challenging but are necessary to start moving forward and gain traction.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone else who feels like they are standing at the crossroads, or perhaps can't even find them in the first place.

– Rebecca (Wellington, NZ)

I went to see Lucy because I felt stuck in my current role, not sure which direction to take my career in. Lucy was easy to talk to and she gently led our conversations in a way that made me feel I was coming to my own realisations.

I really liked having time between sessions to think about what was discussed, with each session building on the last.

Lucy got me thinking about how all aspects of a career should be interlinked (skills, strengths, interests, values, environment) and that you don't necessarily have to do the things you are good at if you don't enjoy doing them!

I will be looking at opportunities in a different light - it won't be about doing the same thing on bigger scale just because I have the ability to do so. I will look for the balanced picture, taking into account values, environment, strengths and interests.

I would definitely recommend Lucy's services to colleagues, as it is easy to feel stuck in a rut and become discontent in a role.

A very valuable experience, many thanks Lucy. I have come away with more tools to use and feel more confident taking the next step in my career.

– Taryn (Wellington, NZ)

I was stuck in the mud at work, wondering if I could break the apparent trend of not growing, professionally. Through Lucy’s coaching, a plan that had been stewing in the back of my mind was solidified and I got better ideas and confirmations about what I felt was missing in my current role. I got some of the spark back and have been able to mould the position into something that will work to my strengths, making me happier and more efficient at my tasks.

Coaching with Lucy was almost therapeutic, with plenty of questions and more talk about the client than about methods or generalisations. Her personalised style is good. Felt like I made my mind up rather than getting told ways to go about it. Timely warnings too, when needed.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone needing to stir themselves up a bit about career choices and future planning.

– Simon (Wellington, NZ)

Lucy has a collaborative, supportive approach that allowed me to talk and voice my unspoken thoughts without fear of judgment. But she also challenged me in a healthy way to re-think some assumptions and asked smart questions to get me to think about my issues from a different angle.

When I went to see Lucy I was unhappy in my current role and knew I needed to make a change, but didn’t know how to, or what changes were in my best interests. I felt stuck, with nowhere to go.

I was tempted to make hasty decisions to fix problems in the short term. However, I now know what I want my career and work life to look like 2, 5, 10 and 20 years from now. Decisions I make are towards achieving the long term goal for how I want my life to be.

What I liked about Lucy’s coaching is that it was solution focused, which meant we did not only concentrate on my problems, but together we looked for solutions and meaningful clues for productive, positive and long term answers.

I have given myself permission to have the kind of career and work life that I thought was only for other people. I see now that I can work towards that, and that I too can have a rewarding career that is fulfilling and stimulating.

Lucy’s coaching is 10 out of 10! After my first session I had already recommended Lucy to people because she listens, is solution focused, and does not allow you to wallow in your problems. This is not counseling – this is real career help.

– La'Chelle (Wellington, NZ)

When I saw Lucy for career coaching I was concerned that I was better suited to a different career path, and so was seeking assistance to articulate what I wanted in a job, and how to make a career transition.

Lucy was non-judgmental and flexible, and I really liked the use of exercises and tests to articulate my skills and preferences, and how to identify careers that fit with these.

Coaching confirmed that I will probably benefit from a shift in career path and has helped me better articulate where I want to be, which will make it easier for me to identify new opportunities.

It has also increased my confidence in looking for new opportunities, and given me some resources to manage difficult situations better.

I highly recommend Lucy’s coaching services, especially to others who are looking for a change in career.

– Sarah (Wellington, NZ)

Lucy has a warm and supportive approach. She was also challenging and insightful. She is a great listener and I always appreciated how she managed to begin each session like we had just finished the last one – remembering our conversations and topics discussed.

At the end of my sessions with her, I always felt I had more insight and information, I was so much clearer and had a plan of practical actions to do.

Lucy backs up her work with great tools and resources as well. I really liked the work on my Strengths Profile. I found the results accurate and very helpful. I felt it confirmed a lot of what I was feeling and it outlined it in a positive and constructive way. I am spending more time now focusing on strengths that I haven't been using and this has been a real boost. The report is a valuable resource that I am referring to regularly.

When I decided to see Lucy for coaching, I was feeling frustrated, despondent, low energy and just really needing a change after some years in the same job. I wasn't clear about what I could do next and how to go about deciding the next step in my career.

I have so much more clarity about where I'm at now and where I'm going, also about my skills, strengths and the area of work I want to do. It has given me confidence to look at possibilities I had dismissed.

I have given myself permission to really believe I plan the life I want. I am more aware of the possibilities and more confident to give them a go.

I have stopped limiting what I think my options could be. Lucy was very encouraging and my time with her has enabled me to take the time needed to reflect and to think much more broadly about what next.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who has some decisions to make about their careers.

– Alison (Wellington, NZ)

Lucy definitely knows her stuff! She has a gentle manner and is not ‘pushy’. She takes time to listen and is very well organised

I was feeling very dissatisfied in my role and had no idea what my skill base was and what kinds of transferable skills I had. Lucy’s coaching helped me identify my transferable skills and avoid a massive work history blip on my CV.

I gained clarity and now feel more confident about looking at and assessing potential jobs because I have a clear sense of my skills and values that are key and important to me personally.

I totally recommend Lucy – she’s amazing!

– Helen (Wellington, NZ)

I was wondering about returning to the workforce and whether or not I wanted to re-enter my previous profession. Lucy gave me the space and direction to be able to think more clearly about my work aspirations. She encouraged me to take a broad view of things and acknowledged the way plans and decisions affect the whole person and their family.

Coaching gave me the time to focus on what was important to me. It brought clarity and logic to the vague ideas I had, and Lucy gave me confidence to re-imagine myself and identify skills and strengths that I could bring to a new work avenue.

Lucy is professional and warm. It was great to be able to trust her to take me through the process and figure things out. I highly recommend Lucy’s coaching to anyone with questions about the suitability of their current role and people considering changing jobs.

– Rosalind (Wellington, NZ)

Lucy has an in-depth understanding of her field and a fabulous ability to ask the right questions at the right time to gently challenge your thinking. I highly recommend Lucy if you are looking for a professional and results oriented career coach.  She is a great listener and has a calm thoughtful and engaging style and the ability to draw out your thinking and go where the conversation needs to go.

I particularly liked how Lucy got me thinking about some longer term goals based on my true passions and talents, and gently questioned some of my barriers to achieving those goals. Lucy always put me at ease and coaching felt like a safe space to explore some of this quite personal stuff.

When I decided to see Lucy for coaching I felt stuck in a job I really didn't like, and felt like I'd been going round in circles for the last 2 - 3 years.

I now have a much better understanding of where I want to head in my career. I had thought I knew quite a lot, but I really came away with a better understanding of values, strengths interests and goals, not to mention an awareness of a key mental barrier that has been unconsciously tripping me up.

I decided to become a consultant and contractor (first day in new contract today!), and also have some clear steps to take towards some longer terms goals.

I highly recommend Lucy’s coaching for people that feel stuck in their jobs, people in a mid-career slump who think they might need a change.

 – Charlotte (Wellington, NZ)

I was being made redundant when I saw Lucy for coaching. She was very easy to talk to, I felt very at ease with her and comfortable discussing my situation.

I found the whole process to be very insightful and interesting and it helped me think about what I would be good at and what I would enjoy. I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who is wanting to identify what areas they would be interested in working in.

– Moira (Tauranga, NZ)

Lucy is a great coach! Her style is easy-going, exploratory and understanding.

The greatest thing I have achieved with Lucy was seeing my interests, likes and capabilities. It was a revelation to me especially some of the assessments we have done and I learned a great deal about myself.

I am more positive about how I feel about my skills and experience. I am proactive to change things for the better after my coaching sessions with her and knowing more about what I like to target is great.

I highly recommend Lucy to people who feel stuck about their career choices, and their progression, perhaps not knowing or being entirely sure where they want to be headed in their career.

– Onur (Wellington, NZ)

Lucy’s coaching style is relaxed, warm and encouraging – supported by an acute intelligence and ability to adeptly guide her clients to arrive at solutions for themselves.

When I started seeing Lucy I was unhappy in my role, feeling stressed and undervalued. It gave me a chance to take time out and explore, with a knowledgeable and supportive coach, the path I should follow for the remainder of my professional career.

I feel I understand myself and my choices much better and have had time to focus rather than feeling troubled by not having the opportunity to stop and address what was underlying this. I now have increased knowledge of my options and I feel validated as to why I was unhappy in my role.

I highly recommend Lucy to anyone seeking coaching about their career choices, and particularly those looking to change direction.

– Jennifer (Wellington, NZ)

I was a bit lost and undecided as to what I wanted to do with my life and where I was going in terms of a career. I was feeling doubts about whether I was good enough to be employed again at my age, hence taking the opportunity to see a carer coach.

Lucy is professional and a good listener and asked questions which brought up things that I had never thought of. She was very helpful, calm and always talks with a smile. She is easy to talk to and made me feel relaxed.

I liked the exercises she had me do. It made think about my potential, and realise that I needed to celebrate my achievements more.

I have now decided to retrain as an early childhood teacher.

– Teri (Wellington, NZ)

I saw Lucy for coaching when I was uncertain about the next steps for my career. What I liked about her coaching was the good level of trust, and excellent insights gathered using tools.

Lucy’s style is collaborative, listening and asking deep questions in a non-obtrusive way. I found Lucy to be engaged and interested. I feel we developed an excellent rapport and her style was a key contributor to this.

Her coaching broadened my horizons and gave me lots of insights to apply to my career decisions.

– Sean (Wellington, NZ)

Lucy has a bubbly, positive and supportive style. It was very helpful to get one on one support and follow up, and it definitely encouraged me to stay on track and keep things up when I was flagging. The specific tips were very helpful too. I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who is ready to make positive change in their lives.

– Rachel (Wellington, NZ)

I had become dissatisfied with my job but I couldn't see how or where I could leverage my skills into a new area. Coaching with Lucy had a positive impact in me being able to better understand my own values and skills to determine what future roles are a ‘best fit’ for me.

Lucy’s approach is client led. Using some broad frameworks for setting up a discussion, she allows the client to focus on what they need. I highly recommend her to mid-career professionals looking to change. Lucy is very good at getting you to understand what you are good at and how to illustrate that effectively.

– Hamish (Wellington, NZ)

I went to Lucy for career coaching when I was deciding whether or not to leave a job and felt at a real crossroads.

I felt Lucy was genuinely interested in me, and in finding ways forward for me. Her coaching gave me confidence and a new appreciation for my skills. It helped me to define the types of roles I want to apply for in the future. Lucy also helped me stop panicking about not having a role, and gave me the confidence to pause rather than rush into things. I am now much more selective, and am also thinking about working in broader areas.

Coaching with Lucy was a very rewarding experience, which I would recommend highly to others who are seeking career coaching. The self-reflection is incredibly useful and affirming.

– Fleur (Wellington, NZ)

Lucy is a great coach. She uncovered my blind spots. Her exceptional listening skills and ability to ask the right questions helped translate my aspirations into meaningful action. Through coaching she helped reveal new possibilities and sharpen my focus.

– Jess (Wellington, NZ)

I was burnt out with my role and not sure of my next steps. Coaching with Lucy provided me with insights into what was and wasn't working for me – helping me to clarify what I liked and didn't like, and set goals for the next steps in my career. I'm now actively thinking about what I want from my career and what I can do to reach those goals.

Lucy has a relaxed approach and takes the time to discuss matters. I’d recommend her to anyone needing some direction in their career.

– Helen (Wellington, NZ)

I decided to see Lucy for coaching when I was finishing work with another employer and considering if my career choice was still for me.

Lucy’s approach was responsive, gentle, challenging, compassionate, and practical. What I found most helpful was having someone to speak with whose interest was my career satisfaction. I had no clue as to how to think or do anything about that on my own.

I really benefited from reviewing my career to date, realising I did actually want to stay in my career but make some tweaks, and then finding a new job, and having some ideas to test for what I will do next.

I highly recommend Lucy’s coaching, to practically everyone! I wonder why on earth organisations with HR teams don't offer this kind of support for career development. It's such a unique skill set – managers don't receive that kind of training. Why not outsource to someone like Lucy?!

– Verona (Wellington, NZ)

I saw Lucy for coaching because my job situation was unpredictable. The coaching opened up new ways to approach the situation, gave me clarity of thought and understanding of what energises me. I now focus on my strengths and utilise unrealised strengths where possible.

Lucy is very open and accommodating, and I recommend her to anyone who is considering a career change or who needs some affirmation that they are doing what they are meant to do.

– Amanda (Wellington, NZ)

Lucy’s sessions gave me the space to work on me rather than my busy role. I really liked Lucy challenging me to articulate my dream job in 10 year’s time – an excellent guiding goal for our conversations on developing the framework for a future I want. Good information, research and tools that prompted my thinking.

                                                                                                                       – Tiri (Australia)

It is easy to get consumed by the daily grind of life and make decisions without really testing your thinking. The great thing about Lucy’s coaching is that it makes you question your assumptions. This then leads to better decision-making.

– James (Wellington, NZ)

I highly recommend Lucy’s career coaching services. I really liked how approachable and easy to talk to she was – the process was not nearly as scary as I thought it would be!

– Alaina (Wellington, NZ)

I had coaching at a time in my life where I had a blank slate work-wise and wanted to be clear about the choices regarding direction. Lucy really helped me create a plan for myself moving forward. This also provided me with a clear plan to review and reflect on in the following months. Lucy really listened to what I was saying which allowed me to hear my ideas reflected back to me in a way that shed light on areas I hadn't previously been conscious of. In addition Lucy knew what she was talking about which helped me feel I was in safe hands.

– Emma (Wellington, NZ)

To anyone who is thinking about "what's next?" job-wise:

Over the last 10 years I've been trying to find a balance between work that is challenging and new, and working in areas that I'm comfortable in – particularly around working hours that allow me to enjoy (and not just survive!) the other aspects of my life.

Having Skype coaching sessions with Lucy really helped me to put a plan in place for how I want to construct my life between now and whenever it is that I finish working.

What I really like about my conversations with Lucy is that it is about living a great life – not about money or "success", but about values. If you are thinking that you might want to explore something around this, get in touch with her!

– Rose (Australia)

I signed up for coaching with Lucy because I felt I had little control over my work and had to deal with some difficult personalities. It felt all too familiar. Through coaching, I am much less likely to be pulled down or stressed by other people's stress or anger. I see it and often understand it, but I don't let it change my mood. I can stop myself from getting wound up by the same things at home as well.

I have also grown in confidence as I’ve realised how capable I am. I’m ready to grab the opportunities that come my way. It's as though suddenly the world is full of possibilities to me.

What I like about Lucy’s coaching is her positivity, gentle probing, hearing things I didn't realise I'd revealed, showing me the progress I've made... sparking my creativity.

I also like the fact that Lucy has experience of working in lots of different environments and has a lot of insight into workplace dynamics and what they can do to you.

I would rate my experience of Lucy’s coaching five out of five. I definitely recommend her services!

– Jacqueline (Wellington, NZ)

I enjoyed my coaching with you on clarifying what it was that I really wanted in life and how my work fitted into that. I now understand what that ‘leap space’ will need to be and plan for it. Thanks again!

– Louisa (Auckland, NZ)

I had been really struggling with a very important decision in my life, but after my coaching with Lucy I was so clear about what I needed to do – she made the whole process seem so straightforward. Since then, so much has opened up for me. I feel so much clearer about my life and the new possibilities that are now unfolding.

Thank you Lucy for your brilliant coaching that gave me the clarity and courage I needed.

–Maureen (Waikato, NZ)
